Serving Others

Posted by Jessica Cho on

There have been many exciting opportunities to serve and love others these recent months. Our on-going rotations with Serve the People, Soup Kitchen and Olive Crest, in addition to engaging with our neighboring communities to serve our city has been a powerful statement of loving others. I wanted to highlight how loving others is not just an act that ebbs and flows, but is more a daily pursuit of fighting against laziness, selfishness, complacency, and inconvenience.

In our 6:8 Initiative ministry, there are core leaders who take on loving others through our outings but also take on dual roles of also serving our church in other ministries as well. Most, if not all, of our leaders serve in multiple ministries, as a decision to serve and love others. It is not always convenient to come to church early to set up, or serve children, welcome members, lead small groups, or lead anyone for that matter, but our core make a conscious decision to make serving others a consistent lifestyle. I hope that you too, would be encouraged by your fellow brothers and sisters; to stop saying “later”, but in response to the overwhelming love of Christ, make a decision to serve our church and community. The work is not always easy, and sometimes inconvenient, but being reminded that we get to engage in the kingdom of God here on earth is an awesome privilege that so many of our core display. Would you also take part on this lifestyle, and make a decision to love others with a joyful heart. If you are interested, there are 6:8 opportunities to help you execute your decision today. Hope to see you at an outing soon!
