Unlikely Sermon Series

Posted by Steve Choi on

It is interesting that God chooses so many who are unlikely to succeed to do his work in the Bible.  God doesn’t choose the smartest, strongest or even the most willing. Often, He purposely chooses the weakest.  Whether it’s their disadvantaged backgrounds or their lack of faith, they seem like the worst of choices to lead God’s people.  It is not that God has a bad judgement of character, He knows exactly who He calls.

Often we feel inadequate, fearful, too busy or that someone else might do a better job.  This is how most of the people felt in the Bible.  Whether it’s Gideon or Esther, no one was qualified or even willing but God changes their hearts.  God wants to use you to do His work.  He wants to demonstrate His strength in our weakness.  All we need is to acknowledge our need for God and a willingness to say yes.  I pray that this series we go through will encourage you to be a hero for God.  I pray that Paul’s prayer would be demonstrated in our church.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

God bless you!

Pastor Steve
