About Us

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel - Philippians 1:27

Crossway Church exists...

To be a "gospel centered church".  There is a five-fold mission in that one statement:

1. Gospel-Centered Mission

We commit to see the big picture and play our role in the vast scheme of God's Kingdom.  The church is the only organization that is concerned about its non-members.  We will constantly seek and strategize to expand the Kingdom on three levels: Local, Regional, and Global.

2. Gospel Transformation

We commit to be "new" people, not "nice" people.  The Gospel is out not to reform people but to transform people.  We will seek transformation at the motivational and character level, not merely behavioral modification.

3. Gospel-Centered Message

We commit to center all of our teaching and preaching around God's Word.  The goal will be to communicate the timeless truths of the author's original intent to the congregation, not the preacher's or teacher's ideas.

4. Motivated by the Gospel

We commit to motivate with grace, not guilt.  We will not use guilt or fear to drive people into obedience.  The motivation that comes from the Gospel sets us free to love and obey out of gratitude as a response to God's grace.

5. Identity Rooted in the Gospel

We commit to value one's identity as a Christian over any cultural, socio-economic, age, or gender.  Though we will celebrate and recognize all different people and their cultures, we will not make the church into a place of any cultural preference or bias.  Thus, we can be a church for all people.
