For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people - Titus 2:11
Crossway Church exists...
To be a "church for all people". There is a two-fold mission in that one statement:
As a church for all people, we dream of Crossway being a place where anyone can come to worship God and be treated equally in Christ. Our aim is to accept and love all people regardless of life-stage, ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic background.
We dream of being a church with a mission for all people groups. Our goal is to share the gospel locally, regionally, and globally. We want to share the good news of what God has done on the cross to as many as possible. It was the prophet Habakkuk who prayed, "Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known." Join us at Crossway as we invest our days renewing and making known His fame.
We commit to see the big picture and play our role in the vast scheme of God's Kingdom. The church is the only organization that is concerned about its non-members. We will constantly seek and strategize to expand the Kingdom on 3 levels: local, regional, and global.
Transformation through Discipleship
We commit to be "new" people, not nice people. The gospel is out not to reform people but to transform people. Churches that preach for behavioral reformation tend to elevate middle class values to the level of Biblical norm and focus on external change. We will seek transformation at the motivational and character level, not merely behavioral modification.
WORD-centered Teaching and Preaching
We commit to center all of our teaching and preaching around God's Word. The goal will be to communicate the timeless truths of the author's original intent to the congregation, not the preacher's or teacher's ideas.
We commit to motivate with grace, not guilt. We will not use guilt or fear to drive people into obedience. The motivation that comes from the Gospel sets us free to love and obey out of gratitude as a response to God's grace.
We commit to value one's identity as a Christian over any cultural, socio-economic, age or gender identity. Though we will celebrate and recognize all different people and their cultures, we will not make the church into a place of any cultural preference or bias. Thus, we can be a church for all people.
